I know there're quite a few gamers out there in Blazer. This happened to me last time i was playing. turned the whole community on me, hunted me down because I was hunting in an area where some big shot was camped(working 35 yr old man who AFKed while at work to gain exp). Crazy reaction by my standards... Totally turned me off gaming... the reactions was like "where you live? I'll meet u lah and settle" etc etc... Had a debate with my guild leader and I told her the way that this ppl are treating this like the real world is really freaking me out.

So question to you guys... Gamers who take it too seriously (key phrase): Mad? Of course guai lan online is not considered lah, i mean to take gaming like their LIFE (as Per Neh always says)

I used to think blogs are a wierd thing cos it's like writing ur diary online, exposed to everyone's eyes =) haha... So just wanted to see what do you guys think about blogging or non-blogging in general...

I was watching 花样少年少女 (i know it's a lame show but hey, at least it's entertaining for the boring weekends, especially when it's the month end when you are just surviving on peanuts till pay day comes), and nearing the end of the show, i finally hear something being said inside the show that strike a chord inside my brain. One of the guy said -

"人要乘年轻的时后，做些疯狂勇敢的事。"

Before that, channel 5 was showing a teen musical movie named High School Musical. I am not ashamed to say i totally enjoyed the movie. People in there were young, and they could sing to everything they felt was good for singing, not to mention they can dance very well too. In summary, it's about this basketball jock, who was his team's captain as well, but after singing at a karaoke contest with a chio bu, he was hesistating about joining the school's play with her. As his father is the alpha male, who is on the other hand his coach in school for basketball, he was giving him a lot of pressure on the upcoming basketball competition...yada yada yada. The main point was, there was a part where they break into a big jamboree of people singing to discourage the couple from joining the school's play. The lyrics went like -

"If you wanna be cool, go with the flow, don't break the status quo...wooohooo....stay with what you do best".

Anyway, as teen movies are, alls well ends well. They sang and everybody liked it so they ended the movie with another massive dance orgy.

I know you must be thinking wtf is kal writing all of these things for. Well, over the past few weeks, i have been discussing with my colleague about the prospects of working in Taiwan (She can recommend me some options). Why Taiwan you might think? Seriously, i also dunno. But on second thoughts, my English is pretty alright, my Chinese is pretty good, i guess i might make a good expat designer there. However, money wasn't on my main concern of finding a job overseas. What i wanted was the experience. The experience of living in whole new different environment and culture. I want the experience of being TOTALLY independent on yourself, paying for your own rent, food, travelling fees etc. On the other hand, i was scared. What if i come back to Singapore and find no jobs. What if i go Taiwan and no one wants to employ me? What if something happens to my parents and no one is here for them? A lot of What Ifs.

Strange isn't it? I'm still currently in the midst of deciding whether i should make the trip or not, and the above scenarios just popped out of no where. Coincidence probably, but when it happens twice, i began to wonder if the one up there is trying to send me a message.

The morale of the story, i wanted to share with you brothers is that, when opportunities knock on your door, or when you are deciding on something that will throw you off the commonality of the "normal" singaporean guy of living life, please think twice. Like what i heard in the scenario - "人要乘年轻的时后，做些疯狂勇敢的事。"

I'll keep you guys posted on my decision =)

Hi soldiers,

5 days of waking up earlier than the roosters, 4 hundreds canteen breaks, 3 nights sleeping in bunks, 2 guns to wash and one 2.4km run later, we have all outpro-ed safely.

It is really damm fun to meet up again. I know its not fun to be doing shit work sometimes lar but other than that, its quite fun,hor? haha.. Once again,, we have confirmed that army jokes are really unlimited. I think that's the only reason why people who can easily defer choose to come back instead. (besides the fact we all know that national service is one of the strongest reason why Singapore enjoys its peace, and thus we are all glad to defend our land).

I believe that we are an unique batch as we all had tertiary education yet does not have high ranks(of cos referring to the hotel21 bmt ppl only). Those in the varsities now will know that most of our peers in school have many stripes or a single bar for that matter. Thus, I think we are alot more sensible than the usual MEN. So, we always thrive on doing things fast and slacking later. heh.. and of course talking cock keeps us going.

As the ICT 2007 comes to an end, I wish you all the best and may we meet again not so soon. hopefully not in march or april lar.

Hello think most of the people here exams over liao. ARE U ALL LOOKING FORWARD TO JUNE 11 NOW? haha. Anyway please allow me to do a bit of advertisement here. Paiseh to take up lots of space ha.

NUS Community Service Club is organizing PROJECT C.A.N. (Collection in Aid for the Needy) (http://can.nuscsc.net/) this coming July. For this project we will be trying to help our needy beneficiaries in the most direct way possible, by collecting food like canned food, rice and dried rations to be distributed to them, and we also hope to promote volunteerism among youths by making it a fun and meaningful event for all. This is a pretty large scale project, so we will be needing lots of volunteers. So please do come down to help out if you are free!

Some details about the project:

1. There are 3 phases altogether:

C.A.N COLLECT (15 July 2007, Sunday): Whole day event. Volunteers will be doing flat to flat canned food collection. We would have distributed flyers to these households beforehand, so some people would have already got the canned food ready to be collected, if not just have to knock on doors and try to persuade them to collect yay. Should be in Toa Payoh area.

C.A.N CHALLENGE (20-22 July 2007, Friday to Sunday): A 3 day event (Volunteers on 2 hour shifts) whereby booths will be set up outside supermarkets and volunteers to encourage shoppers to purchase food rations for donation. Locations unconfirmed yet.

C.A.N DISTRIBUTE (25 July 2007, Wednesday tentatively): Pretty self-explanatory right? Whole day event.

2. We will need quite a lot of volunteers for 15 July, so if you just want to sign up for one please choose this one. Of course if you are interested to do the rest can sign up also, alternatively can sign up at the end of CAN collect on 15 July.

3. FREE LUNCH AND FREE T-SHIRT! (courtesy of sponsors)

4. Anyone can help out, not just NUS students. Everyone can lend a hand to give back to society!

5. SENSE OF SATISFACTION (courtesy of donors)

6. If you can’t confirm, can still sign up, we will be calling you nearer the date to confirm attendance (no pressure one don’t worry)

PROJECT C.A.N. 2007
Project C.A.N. 2007 is one of the special projects undertaken by the NUS Students' Community Service Club. The aim of this project is to appeal to the general public to lend a helping hand to our fellow needy Singaporeans, thereby promoting greater community bonding. Hence the theme "Collection in Aid of the Needy", or Project C.A.N. for short, has been used throughout the years.
Through this volunteering project, the public can choose to donate their canned food or dry rations during our collection drives consisting of both door-to-door collections, as well as passing us their generous donations directly through our collection booths.
Project C.A.N., now into its 4th year, was first started in 2004. This year, we hope to benefit 300 elderly and needy families located in Toa Payoh and Kim Keat, who are currently living at marginal levels and have difficulties in meeting their daily necessity needs.

JOIN US AS A VOLUNTEER AT:

C.A.N Collect: 15th July C.A.N Challenge: 20th-22nd July C.A.N Distribute: 25th July (Tentative)

C.A.N COLLECT: This will be a door-to-door collection of canned food and volunteers will be split into as many as 15 groups, with each group handling about 6-8 blocks of flats. We’ll be collecting from the central neighbourhood (Ang Mo Kio, Toa Payoh, Thomson) this year.

C.A.N CHALLENGE: This will be a joint effort between NUS Community Service Club and 3 NTUC Fairprice outlets. Booths will be set up at these 3 outlets, to challenge the public to donate canned food generously to benefit the elderly and needy, and at the same time bringing greater awareness to these people in the society.

C.A.N DISTRIBUTE: The final phase of our project - we hope to bring a beautiful conclusion to it all. We will go to the flats of our beneficiaries to distribute the canned food we have collected.

Hiayo .. this blog so long not updated haha. Well just for the sake of updating, there's an ice-cream cafe @ Guthrie Building at 6h Ave. rd (liaobi should know haha) just beside the Cold Storage. I thought their ice-creams were pretty good as well. Single scope 2.80, double for 3.90. - ten cents cheaper than Island Creamery over at Serene Centre haha. Both are pretty good as well =P.

This is really damm interesting. Usually I'll take a bus to school. As I was late today, I took the train. Arriving at Jurong East Station, I spotted someone very familiar. He was a distant away but I decided to take a photo to show others that I really saw him.

So I took out my camera phone and digital zoom the maximum I could. As I was pressing down the shutter button, he did his trademark action. What are the chances of running into him + taking a shot of his trademark pose ?
